Is someone trying to take the piss?

An 8 year old boy who is charged with murder is interviewed by police but has no one there to let him know what is going on.

The kid is 8 for Christ’s sake.

Why wasn’t someone called in – even during the time of asking him if he knew what had gone on – this was before the kid became a suspect. That is plainly nuts!

The boy, sitting cross-legged in an overstuffed armchair, initially denied any involvement in the shootings but later said he shot his already wounded father “because he was suffering.”

The two officers questioning the boy press him to tell the truth, with one saying at one point, “If you’re not honest with me, if you’re not truthful, it’s not going to look good.”

I wonder if that officer uses the same technique at home?

The question is – how can you take this confession as based on nothing but sand? The kid is questioned by ‘experts’ and basically pushed down the track into giving the officers what they want to hear. This has been done before and the child involved had nothing to do with the crime that had been committed. Should someone have been brought in that knew what to do while questioning a child?
