Obama aide: Bin Laden, we are going to kill you!
In transition? That statement gave me chills.
Without a solid lead as to where OBL is - Obama’s National Security advisers say they are upping the ante as to finding the guy.
Now that is going to be hard - very, very hard indeed.
9/11 was catastrophic for the US, and to some extent the rest of the world - it was, and always will be one of those moment that you will always remember where you were at the exact time it happened.
Osama bin Laden was the orchestrator as far as we know in the wider world. And Obama has said that he will go after OBL as soon as he can. That promise looks to be on the cards. Getting him is a different story.
Not only getting him but actually finding him. As rich as Osama is, he lives in a cave somewhere. The last bastion he has is Afghanistan - or the Afghan/Pakistan border. Is this why so may civilians are being killed by American drones with Hellfire missiles? Bush wants to be remembered for the President that got him rather than the atrocious record that he has? Could be.
One thing at the end of that CNN story struck me as correct - and bloody stupid to report - because it could work!
Fury says the best route for the president-elect to take would be to change the dialogue about bin Laden. Intelligence officials do not believe he is playing an operational role and so has no reason to move around or communicate.
“I think it’s important to understand that bin Laden had his chance at martyrdom. He was in the mountains of Tora Bora, he ran away. In my opinion, I think we ought to promote this,” Fury said.
He believes taunting the al Qaeda leader may force him to prove he’s relevant and, in the process, lead the United States right to him.
Despite the challenges, many experts agree it is important to capture bin Laden.
“I don’t think the American people will accept him surviving and us leaving. We will be the laughingstock of the world,” Fury said
There are times when you should engage your brain before opening your mouth - now Al Q will be waiting for the taunting to begin.
*Looks for wall to bang head on*

Taunt Bin Laden? Have you people lost your bloody minds?!
Okay, let me see if I can give you an analogy:
I’m in the ocean trying to catch myself a shark. So, I start chumming the water while my friends sit around chuckling. Boy that shark is going to get it when he shows up! LOL!
Um, the problem with chumming the sea is that in the process you generally see a lot more sharks than just one.
When we make Afghanistan the focus of our war efforts look for him to be “discovered” in some cave or village. There simply isnt the will or the manpower in the correct area for us to have a chance at capturing him right now imho.
Peace.

“Capture” him!? Hell, no. He’s KOS. We almost got to him in Tora Bora using a small group of Delta Force operatives. I’ve always thought that was a more logical approach than shooting up an entire country or two or three.
As for taunting him out of hiding… I’ve heard worse ideas. After all, he was content to sit safely in his cave while his followers went out to sacrifice themselves and grab their 72 virgins each. Is he less of a man than they were? (Hmm, on second thought, maybe taunting won’t work … )

WELL,
To all those people who said Obama couldn’t handle the job…..
IT looks like he is!
He is going to be a great president!
This is not at the top of the list, but I am glad that he is thinking about it!
I support him 100%.

Agreed on the foolishness to announce it. Like it or not, the same thing happened with “the surge”. Instead of just doing it, we announced it was going to be coming. What did the insurgents do? Pull back, lay low, and wait until pre-surge numbers appear again.
“Let’s tell them our battle plan! They’ll never suspect that!”
