When Fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross

Sinclair Lewis, died 1951

Is it really possible that National Socialism can come to the US and walk into that country with freedom and no recognition? Some commentators say that it already has – Bush eroding the rights of Americans steadily over the years. I disagree – Bush is a moron of the highest order – but there are a few things that he hasn’t quite completed.

Bush wants McCain to be president so McCain can complete the Bush agenda – Bush still doesn’t like, nor trust McCain – but backs him willingly because McCain will carry forward with some gusto Bush policies. No matter how many times McCain says he isn’t tied to Bush – all you need to do is look at the facts.

Picking a fundamental running-mate, McCain is certainly not wanting to lose an election campaign. He wants office much more than he is willing to say. So his statement that he would rather lose an election than a war is, like so much in his campaign, defunct.

So we do have to come back to the statement in the title – and can it really happen?

Looking from the outside in, I say yes – but if you are inside looking out you see things in a very different perspective.

“It cannot happen in America – we have the constitution!” But is that really the safeguard that Americans think it is? Roe Vs Wade is under attack from the right-wing lunatics including Palin and now, John McCain. It is a part of the US constitution and they will, if ever the chance does arise, repeal it. That is the warning sign right there. It is over-looked because it isn’t an integral part of the Constitution of the USA – neither was the liquor ban which was repealed.

But, you have to look at where Bush has gone and McCain will certainly follow – if the Constitution of the USA gets in the way of McCain and his pitbull they will change it, repeal parts that gives them the power they need – in the name of national security – and they will do such to where in a few years time your daughters and sons will be going missing because of what they believe.

If you aren’t scared of McCain/Palin you should be – and not just those who are against Bush/McCain/Palin – those who are for them. For if you think your rights will be respected while others are not – you are quite wrong.

Bush/McCain/Palin/Cheney want to impose their views not just on the American moderate – but on people who are not American, this leads to another problem for America, those people will fight back and say no.

Bush/McCain will isolate the US more than it is now. When that isolation is blamed on other countries and the propaganda begins. Then you will have no more chances to stop the flag-waving despots, you will be marching down the streets of another invaded country and worrying when the counter-attack will come.

Will, in this post you seem to be a bit confused about the nature of the US Constitution. Presidents cannot change it. Sure, in theory they could lead a drive to do so, but quick changes have only happened a few times and they were on the whole pretty positive changes because of the large majority required to make such a change. The only really contentious changes ever made were the amendments regarding slavery, and those were possible because they were added just after the Civil War when the South didn’t have a say.

The real danger is that leaders will simply ignore the Constitution. That’s what Dubya did routinely. Congress could have stopped him, but they didn’t have the guts.

Also, there’s the matter of the “unwritten constitution.” Although we like to contrast our written constitution with Britain’s “unwritten constitution,” the reality is that large portions of what in Britain are considered to be part of the constitution are not here in the USA. The distinction is really just one of terminology, though, they are the same thing.

Roe v. Wade is not part of our constitution. It is constitutional case law, though. What’s the difference? It can be overturned by a U.S. Supreme Court decision without necessitating a constitutional amendment.

I could go on about this issue, but for now I won’t.

    @ Bernard

Are you hoping Mccain dies and Palin does that? It sounds like you want that to happen. Has Bush launched nukes against the arabs and russia to bring back Jesus as well?

If the democrats win, it’s not going to be a landslide. It should be given the condition of the country, but Obama isn’t that desirable of a candidate for most of the country due to him being a liberal, which doesn’t appeal to much of the nation. Had the dems picked a moderate, it would have been a landslide.

  5. bernard Says:

how can obama have a ten point lead on cnn gallup in the polls oney day and a 4 point lead the next . look its in the medias intrest to do what ever they can to keep this election close . so they are fiddling the polls end of story . i herd biden say stuff the polls we are gonna go as hard out as we are even harder till election day . no one beleaves their stinking filthy leing polls . it will be a democratic landslide on nov 5 .

  6. bernard Says:

what about when mcain dies in office and sara palin is left controlling the nukes , put ya heads between ya legs and kiss ya asses goos bye . palin will launch nukes against the arabs and russia to bring back jesus . aye but the media would rather focos on important issues not what ive mentiond above .

It has been here all along, Strausseans just perfected it. Though we should not give them all the credit, after all we have our own nationalistic and religious sentiments to balance.

Frank Schaeffer did a post on the HuffPo that really nailed this:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/frank-schaeffer/sarah-palin-americas-lips_b_124213.html

I am an American living in Canada, a country that leans toward socialism – I am not sure, but I think your linking of socialism and fascism are two opposite extremes – the far left leans toward socialism, and the far right toward fascism – Canada is a kind, gentle place to live that takes care of it’s own.

What Sarah Palin’s words spoke the other night, if they had been out of the mouth of anyone but a woman who called herself a Christian, would have exposed her fascism for what it was. Far too many did not hear her extreme views because she spoke in religious language that most of America is very familiar with. But if you look at her previous history she was quite the demagogue – my way or the highway, oaths of loyalty, etc. It was shocking to me that she was rejoiced over by so many who should have been in tears.

  12. Paulette Says:

Will I agree and they’re doing all this while pillaging and not helping the citizens of America.

They don’t want to provide any services or programns to help citizens and they want to to be Absolute rulers.

    Very scary.
