Lou Dobbs asks: Where is the UK?
He was, of course, speaking about the Georgia crisis.
I watched the presumptive Republican on TV this evening and as he was speaking about ‘Where is Europe’ on the matter - I wondered myself. So, me being me, I clicked on the BBC blogroll link and, hey-frigging-presto - this:
UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown says there is “no justification” for Russia’s military action in Georgia.
He said the intervention “threatens the stability of the entire region and risks a humanitarian catastrophe”.
“There is a clear responsibility on the Russian government to bring this conflict quickly to an end,” he said.
Tory leader David Cameron branded Russia a “dangerous bully” and urged the international community to stand up and condemn its action in Georgia.
He also called for Georgia’s membership of Nato to be “speeded up”.
Maybe Lou should read the BBC?

Lou Dobbs is an idiot, and actually, he considers himself an independent.
As I read on another blog, this Georgian conflict could be the Assassination of Franz Ferdinand of this century.

He keeps saying he’s an independent, Leap - but he and his team sound more Republican than McCain.
I don’t think the war/crisis will get to all out war in Europe because Georgia isn’t a member of NATO yet, Russia knows that and took their chance.

Except the US trained and supplied the Georgian army. Regardless, I’m skeptical that it will evolve into an intercontinental war, but there are so many places where things could go wrong.

I quit listening that buffoon. He doesn’t sound like a Republican, he sounds like a McCarthyist.

Agreed. He thinks every little thing the government does is part of some elaborate war on the middle class. Immigrants sneaking over our border? War on the Middle Class. Tax cuts? War on the Middle Class. Outsourcing? War on the Middle Class. Georgia attacking Ossetia? War on the Middle Class. Every show except for Lou Dobbs Tonight? War on the Middle Class.

Leapsecond,
For the love of God! That man gets on my last nerve. He gets up on that soapbox and can find any possible way you could think of, and even some you can’t, and blame it on illegal immigrants. The McCarthyist has found his scapegoat for “the war on the middle class”. Goebbels would be so proud of him.

I just don’t like the McCarthyist direction the country is headed in — from the media to the regular citizens. I know too many people that make even Steven Colbert look unpatriotic!

They need their jingoism, and megalomania. Anyone who does not agree with them are immediately labeled unpatriotic, traitors, sympathizers and out to “destroy our way of life”. Every broadcast of Lou Dobbs has these elements that he proclaims is “independent thinking”.

I blame 9/11.

I think 9/11 is a convenient excuse. They’ve been wanting this for decades.

I thought good ol’ Lou just meant, “Where is the UK on a map, so I can figure out where to build a fence to keep’em out?”
“Except for Cary Grant, which I think I look like.” (REAAAALLLLLY dating himself)
