Aliant…here for you!?
Well no, not really. The commercial asks if you want slow or fast speed - we would really like fast speed Mr Aliant, but you won’t give it to us!
We used to be on ADSL with them before, the performance was very good - but now we are in the boonies and trying to get high-speed internet again, guess what, they have no plans to bring it in, ever! Now do take into account that we have just about everything with Aliant, mobile, home phone and this garbage they call dial-up. They are getting a chunk of money from us each month - but they don’t want to give the customer what they want - this is the problem with a company like them who has a virtual monopoly.
We did ring Rogers - they were fine about things and even informed us that we could have high-speed internet out here, we did smile, great, we could get the high-speed we wanted. Well, you would think so? Wrong - if we change over to Rogers it will cost over $1000 because of the contract we are signed up to - three years of crap service! Unfortunately this all reminds me of the old BT days back in the UK - they did these kind of things to keep the money firmly rolling in, that was until the government did something about it - that really shouldn’t have to happen.
But the question comes to mind - how can Rogers give us high-speed and Aliant, not? Well it is all down to Rogers investing in bringing portable internet out here! So if they can do it why not Aliant? Rogers were going to charge us $19.99 per month with a one off fee of $99, Aliant wants $599 plus $30 plus $44 for satellite and that is for 256Kbs - now I wonder why? Seems they don’t want people to have good service at affordable cost so they can charge through the roof for garbage!
So, all I can say is this - go with Rogers! As soon as we can find a way of doing so we will, Aliant must like being able to afford to lose good customers, after all, what is a few thousand bucks to them each year!?
If you see this and want to pass it on please feel free to do so - you will be helping in a good cause, people in the boonies getting into the 21st century!

“Aliant here for you” is an ad slogan [read: bold face lie], and not in anyways a promise of service between Aliant and the consumer, and will not be honored. Hey, at least I get a free hand job to go with the screwing over they give me. But maybe they can give give their costumers the choice of service: screwed over or get the money beaten out of you. I would at least have something to show for how much I’m paying each month.

f$*k this is retarded, youre such a pessimist, if your living out in the f*&king boonies they shouldn’t have to spend the thousands of dollars to lay f#@king lines get get a strong enough signal for the internet to be carried out to your house, your probably only spend like 150$ a month on your services and thats chump change.
